Hello, and welcome! Wow, I am getting the Christmas bug so early this year! Well I'm just gonna roll with it : ) So for this winter themed card I am using a set called Frost Loving Friends by MFT combined with 2 stamps from Lavinia stamps. I am a person who absolutely loves doing scenes so Lavinia stamps are perfect for me to build from.
I knew I was going to use Copic for this card so I started with Neenah #80lb, and Momento black ink. As always, before I started colouring I swatch out my Copic choices on a scrap piece of paper.Of course, I do change colours as I go, but I always have a game plan going in. That way I don't feel overwhelmed by colour choices. I don't have nearly as many craft supplies as I once had. I have purged a lot over the last number of years. The one thing I am super happy about was I kept my Copics. I have quite a big collection so I like planning the colours before I even start stamping.
I worked on colouring the elements first. Then tested them for scale deciding if I wanted more, less, or leave as is.
Then I went to work on the background. The base of the fir tree in the middle was a test for the green under the tree. I knew the rabbit would cover it so I wasn't too worried about trying. In the end I decided it didn't work. It is hard to see in this picture that the fir trees have green on them. And the sky has faint grey clouds.
I figured out the final arrangement using tape to hold them still. When I liked the final look I glued everything in place.
I added a sentiment, a brown panel, and glued all onto Neenah #110lb cardstock making a 4.25" x 5.5" A2 card.
Gosh! Honestly, these little animals are so cute in this set!! And that thermos!
Until next time, happy crafting.
