Copic Sketch Marker Organization

Copic Sketch Markers are my favourite markers to use! Today I'll go through what I use for Copic Colour Charts, and what I use as storage for my Copic Sketch Markers.

What makes these alcohol based markers so special is how well they blend together. There are a total of 358 wonderful colours available. Each comes with a Medium Broad Nib, and a Super Brush Nib. There is also an option for a smaller Medium Round Nib, giving you the flexibility to switch out the ends. I also love that the ends of these markers are coloured, and numbered making finding the exact colour I'm looking for so easy! There are so many great features with the Sketch Markers, but one that really stands out for me is the oval shaped barrel. It stops the possibility of my markers rolling around my table : ) Sketch Markers are also compatible with the Copic Airbrush System to give even more flexibility for your projects.

Copic Markers are not cheap so I appreciate the option of purchasing a refill ink when the marker runs dry. The refill has more than one fill per marker. As this refill is close to the same price as a new marker this makes the refill option very cost effective.

However, a word of caution ... these markers come with a steep learning curve! Be prepared to spend time learning to blend with these alcohol markers. There are so many different ways to blend these, and it's really just personal preference. Light to dark, or dark to light, either is totally acceptable.

I am NOT a professional, but the best advice I can give is practice, and have patience. You will be rewarded in the end with so many beautiful colour choices to use in your designs!

Copic Colour Charts

I have 2 copies of this Copic Colour chart that I use in different ways. The first is a copy that I would keep with me when purchasing new Copic so I wouldn't double up. I would colour the rectangle as soon as I purchased it to keep it up to date. This chart was made by CardMonkey.

The second chart I use in my craft room, and is also from CardMonkey. However, note there is an error on this chart of two YR04. I took this chart to a printer, and had it made bigger on heavier cardstock. I use a size of 17" x 11" making the rectangles 1/2" x 1/4". I wanted samples of my colours that were big enough to hold to my projects and see what it would look like. This system works perfectly for me : )

Shown above is also a Copic Colour Chart available at Copic JP that would work just as well for this purpose.

Storage for Copic Markers, and Charts

This is where, and how I store my large Copic colour chart. I simply put a piece of velcro on the backside of the chart, and it hangs perfectly on the inside of my cabinet door! Handy, and ready to use : )

And finally this is how I store my Sketch markers. I purchased 2 of these acrylic holders. They are CSVDISP acrylic display cases, and will hold 288 Sketch markers each. Each small section holds 4 Sketch markers vertically. There is also a longer undivided section on the ends that hold my card design sketchbook. The empty slots leftover can also fit 2 Copic reinker old style, or 3 new style in each. I like the functionality of these displayers as they show the colour, and numbers facing out. And just how beautiful the colours are when lined up?!

I hope you found this post on my Copic organization helpful. Possibly giving you ideas on how to organize your own markers : )

Thank you for visiting, until next time,
Jess
